I think that in addition to NNTP, would also be helpful to allow to specify multiple subsystems (sometimes an issue affects or is affected by multiple subsystems), to link together issues, and also link to branches, tags, and hashes, of version control repositories, I think.

23:44:10 <fizzie> I hate it when the box drawing characters don't join up. :/
23:44:25 <fizzie> Seems to happen especially often in the vertical direction.
23:44:42 <fizzie> People just don't seem to care about it any more.
23:45:21 <fizzie> In this VS Code thing, in the editor side there's small gaps, but in the Markdown preview window (in a monospaced block) they're big enough to drive a thing through.
23:45:45 <fizzie> At least in a terminal it still works as intended.
23:46:58 <b_jonas> of course, because in your terminal you're using one of these esoteric-approved
23:47:03 <HackEso> #esoteric bitmap fonts include: \oren\'s font http://www.orenwatson.be/fontdemo.htm , lifthrasiir's font https://github.com/lifthrasiir/unison/ , b_jonas's font http://www.math.bme.hu/~ambrus/pu/fecupboard20-c.pcf.gz , fizzie's font https://github.com/fis/rfk86/tree/master/web/font , FireFly's fonts https://firefly.nu/up/fonts/
23:48:10 <fizzie> I couldn't make VS Code on linux use a bitmap font at all, despite some amount of trying. Something to do with Chromium.
23:49:54 <int-e> You should use a light-weight editor like emacs.
23:50:18 <int-e> (Oh how the times have changed.)
23:53:11 <zzo38> fizzie: The problem is a combination of non-fix-pitch fonts and Unicode, I think. If you use non-Unicode fixpitch fonts then I think they will line up (if the font and the renderer are implemented correctly, which I suppose sometimes they might not be, but I have not seen such a problem in non-Unicode fonts).
23:54:24 <zzo38> And, yes some programs cannot use bitmap fonts, even though I want to use bitmap fonts. I have found that problem on my computer too even though I do not use VS Code nor Chromium.
23:55:02 <zzo38> I had wanted to make up some new bitmap fotns possibly by collaborative effort, too, I hope
23:58:39 <zzo38> I do care about the lining up.
23:59:13 <zzo38> (I used the "Fixed" font; I do not use any of the esoteric-approved fonts, at this time.)
23:59:47 <fizzie> I think it's got something to do with line-spacing, because it's supposedly the same font as I have in the browser, where things do line up. Although I may have gotten something configured wrong.
